In Paraguay, the Ministry of Women has launched a campaign to raise awareness on violence against women during the pandemic.
The campaign “Metete, podemos evitar más feminicidios” includes a guideline to help women, victims of violence, as cases increased during the quarantine.

In Paraguay, volunteers hold a special “Olla Popular” (soup kitchen) in the Hernanderias district.
“Ollas” are organized by volunteers who prepare meals for vulnerable people. 85 organizations attended the special event and their members prepared 19,200 lunchboxes that were distributed in Hernanderias neighborhoods.

In Paraguay, packages of food and hygiene products are delivered to vulnerable people.
The initiative is part of the “Plan Internacional” project and it aims at residents of the cities of San Estanislao, Liberación, General Resquín, San Vicente, Unión, Guayaybí, Yrybucuá and Yataity del Norte, including indigenous communities.

In Paraguay, a programmer created a website aimed at providing assistance to vulnerable people.
Called AyudaPy, the site shows the location on a map where and who are the people or communities needing help in this period of the Covid-19 epidemic. The aim is to connect them with those who can help. The user needs to fill out a form to ask for assistance…

In Paraguay, an organization is mapping “ollas populares” (soup kitchens).
Created by the organization Civilab, the social map contains the “popular ollas”, groups that help vulnerable families, from all over the Central Paraguayan Department. In the description of each “olla” there is information on how many dishes with food it is possible to deliver per day.

In Paraguay, Fundación Paraguaya made getting loans easier for the vulnerable.
It is the first microfinance institution in the country, pioneering financial literacy and entrepreneurial education. During the pandemic, it simplified the loan conditions and was able to reach more than 3,500 village banks and 70,000 microenterprises. It allowed borrowers to defer their payments without penalties and offered refinancing options.
