In Costa Rica, the Ministry of Health and the National Union of Local Governments launched a campaign to protect trash collectors.

The goal of the “Entre Héroes Nos Cuidamos” campaign is to encourage the population to separate recyclable, organic and medical waste, in addition to disinfecting garbage bags to prevent trash collectors from getting Covid-19.

The profiles are published on the “Inumeráveis” website that was launched in late April. The journalists’ goal is that the victims of Covid-19 are not seen as statistical numbers but as humans.
