In Mexico, filmmakers create an aid fund for workers in the film industry who were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Audiovisual Emergency Fund “Sifonóforo” has the support of relevant people in Mexican cinema, for example, directors Guillermo del Toro, Alejandro González Iñárritu and Alfonso Cuarón, actress Salma Hayek and actor Gael García. Technical workers who need financial assistance must register on the website of the Mexican Academy of Cinema.
