In Oman, the Muscat-based Research Council called for research proposals on Covid-19.

In Brazil, professors and students at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (Uerj) are manufacturing masks and face shields for hospitals.
The protectors are manufactured with a laser cutting machine and 3D printing. Polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETg) plastic is used. This kind of plastic is a flexible material that provides for more comfort.
