In South Africa the government has relocated some people living in informal settlements.
70 vulnerable families from Wilgespruit Township, just outside Johannesburg have been relocated to wooden chalets for free. The move is aimed at ensuring that Covid-19 does not spread in the overcrowded township with no running water and electricity.

In Delhi, India, Sahib Gurdwara kitching, a Sikh house of worship, is cooking for thousands during the pandemic.
The complex of this Gurudwara, which is the name of the place of worship for Sikhs, has a kitchen, a hospital, a school, a museum and an art gallery. Since the lockdown began in India on March 25, cooks have been feeding thousands of people.

In Angola volunteers are making and distributing soap to low income households.
The project was initiated by entrepreneur Fernanda Renée. The group now produces 1000 bars of soap daily and distributes them free of charge to low-income households in Luanda to encourage frequent handwashing and prevent the spread of Covid-19.

In South Korea, JYP Entertainment, with a roster that includes 2PM and TWICE, made a donation of 500 million won (€372,701) to the Community Chest of Korea.
The amount will be used to purchase equipment such as masks and anti-contamination suits. It will also be used to provide sanitation items to low-income families.

Kenya rolls out mass Covid-19 testing in the capital, Nairobi.
The voluntary tests will target low-income neighborhoods such as Kawangware, Kibera, and Eastleigh which already have a high number of infections. Health officials explained that social distancing is more difficult in such areas, so they decided to focus their testing and educational campaigns in these neighborhoods.
