The group of activists and experts against gender violence has provided a WhatsApp number to help women during the Covid-19 pandemic. Victims receive psychological assistance and legal advice. There is a protocol to handle each type of case.

In Chile, the government launched “WhatsApp Mujer” to help victims of abuse during the quarantine.
The project has helped more than 4 thousand women in a month. Women only need to send a WhatsApp message with the word “hola” (hello) and the assistants, who are people trained to deal with cases of violence, assess the risk of the victim, and provide guidance.

In Colombia, women help other women who are victims of violence during quarantine.
Violence against women increased in Colombia during social isolation. Call center 155 has seen a 103% increase in calls since the quarantine began on March 25. Thus, 40 women from the “Red Solidaria de Mujeres” have offered legal and psychological guidance to the victims.

In Honduras, rural women sew masks to prevent Covid-19.
