In Brazil, residents of Rio de Janeiro are adopting animals abandoned during quarantine.
Visits to abandoned pet shelters are suspended because of the Covid-19 pandemic, but the city has created the “delivery of pets” project so that people interested in adopting them can receive the animal directly at home. A prior online interview is made with the person interested in adopting.

In Ethiopia, the World Bank is working with water utilities to ensure sufficient water supply during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The organization is working with over 20 national utility companies to increase water supply through borehole rehabilitation and the replacement of water pumps in densely populated areas. They are also assisting in procuring chemicals and reagents that remove impurities and maintaining back-up power generators.

In Côte d’Ivoire, the government offered electricity payment for two months amid the pandemic.
The payment deadline from April will be extended to July 2020 and the deadline from May to August 2020. The Minister of Health and Public Hygiene, Eugène Aka Aouélé urged also the population to reduce these displacements, to isolate fragile populations and wear a mask.
