In Singapore, specially designed face masks for teachers are being made so that deaf students can lip-read.

In Brazil, former inmates sew masks against Covid-19.
These taylors work at Estamparia Social, a micro-company created by former inmates, in São Paulo. Some masks were purchased by the NGO Sê-los to be donated with hygiene material to employees and inmates of a Hortolândia penitentiary in the countryside.

A non-profit organisation African Masks distributes cloth masks in several countries across Africa. While some governments introduced compulsory mask-wearing, many impoverished communities cannot afford a mask.
