In Zimbabwe, Chinese medical experts have arrived in the country to assist in the fight against Covid-19.
The team of 12 medical experts in the field of respiratory illnesses, infectious diseases, intensive medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, infection control, public health and nursing came from Hunan province to share their experience in fighting Covid-19 with their Zimbabwean counterparts. Rwanda will start using robots at their Covid-19 treatment centres.
The robots will be used for screening temperatures, remotely monitoring patients, and keeping medical records. The robots will also be used to screen temperatures in other public places such as bus terminals and shopping malls. In Libya two fashion designers have started producing medical protection suits.

In Africa, the African Development Bank approved $2 million in emergency assistance for WHO
The funding will specifically help 41 African countries on infection prevention, testing and case management. WHO Africa will also boost surveillance systems, procure and distribute laboratory test kits, and support coordination mechanisms at national and regional levels.
