In Senegal, the government launched an economic and social resilience program based on four fundamental pillars.
The program will have a CFAF 1,000 billion (€1,5 billion) budget, according to the International Labour Organization, and it will focus on four areas: supporting the health sector; strengthening the social resilience of populations; protecting the private sector and an economic and social recovery program.

Malawi has launched a cash transfer programme for individuals and small businesses affected by the pandemic.
The President of the country, Peter Mutharika, announced the cash aid. Eligible households will receive a monthly payment of 35,000 Malawian kwacha ($47) by mobile cash transfer starting in May.
