In Venezuela, volunteers of the NGO Convite are delivering food to the elderly.
The NGO created the project “Plan Buen Vecino” when the Covid-19 pandemic started to help the elderly who live in Caracas alone. 1,000 meals are delivered per week.

In Paraguay, volunteers hold a special “Olla Popular” (soup kitchen) in the Hernanderias district.
“Ollas” are organized by volunteers who prepare meals for vulnerable people. 85 organizations attended the special event and their members prepared 19,200 lunchboxes that were distributed in Hernanderias neighborhoods.

The initiative is part of the “Plan Internacional” project and it aims at residents of the cities of San Estanislao, Liberación, General Resquín, San Vicente, Unión, Guayaybí, Yrybucuá and Yataity del Norte, including indigenous communities.

In Guatemala, Kombi Solidária delivers food to the poorest.
The vehicle travels the streets of Quetzaltenango to donate meals to people who are in financial difficulties because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The idea comes from the Sacándole Brillo a Xela Association, which accepts food donations to prepare lunch boxes.

In Spain, over 35,000 volunteers have contributed with the Red Cross amidst the pandemic.
Cruz Roja Española, the Spanish subsidiary of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, launched a massive operation in the country, that includes more than 5,000 health transfers, 200,000 deliveries of essential goods and the deployment of more than 93 shelters for homeless people.

In Belarus, the Red Cross and an IT company Onde launched a taxi service that will ride volunteers free of charge.
It will help volunteers deliver medical recipes or grocery products to the elderly. It is a free online service and is based on the company’s new product, the Lolo app. It targets those drivers who want to help but aren’t necessarily ready to deliver groceries on their own.

Zimbabwean NGO, ZimRights distributes Covid-19 sanitary packs to informal traders at Mbare Musika.
The sanitary packs included a three-ply disposable facial mask, a pair of powdered latex gloves and a 100ml sanitizer bottle per individual. In Mumbai, India, a citizens’ initiative Khaana Chahiye (Hindi for “Need food”) provides 70,000 meals a day for the most vulnerable,
such as the homeless, stranded migrant workers and daily wagers. Those behind the initiative are preparing meals at restaurants in the city. They’ve started fundraising money to meet the expenses. On their website, they also received alerts on people who face hunger.
