A non-profit organisation African Masks distributes cloth masks in several countries across Africa.
This venture is supported by crowdfunding. Teams of volunteers distribute cloth masks to the most vulnerable and populated communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Kenya, Senegal, Benin and Nigeria. In the first month, local tailors were able to sew 7,000 masks, which also brings jobs to those tailors.

In Costa Rica, Juntos por Guanacaste project is raising funds to help unemployed.
The Guanacaste Community Fund together with other organizations in the Santa Cruz tourist area created this project to help families from 31 communities who are unemployed because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Basic food baskets and products such as soaps, disinfectant towels and gel alcohol are delivered.

In New York, US, a group of local residents organised the #InMyScrubs campaign to support hospitals.
They collect money via crowdfunding platform GoFundMe that will be used to buy meals for health care workers. In New Zealand, volunteers are purchasing and distributing food parcels using a micro-grants scheme from the government.
In March, the Government announced $27 million for essential social services andup to $4.8 million for community grants “to support innovative, community-led solutions that support local resilience,” its website explains. They are up to $5,000 micro grants, which group of people are using to help their neighbours.
